Tomatoes Damage Easily

Tomatoes are a thin skinned and soft fruit that bruises and scars easily when handled using mechanical devices for packing, sorting and grading. For this reason, a delicate approach is required when handling tomatoes to prevent damaging and lowering the value of the fruit. The process of grading and handling tomatoes is improved when packing companies choose equipment specifically designed for tomato sorting. The gentle approach during the packing process is accomplished when using equipment that has soft transfer points with brush rollers so the tomato fruit has little opportunity to leave the surface of the equipment though bouncing and bumping.
